Casey Smith- Owner/Head Instructor
Casey grew up in the Marietta area and played high school ball at McEachern where he graduated in 2002. He then went on to play college ball at Erskine College. In his 3 years at Erskine Casey set numerous single season and career offensive records including RBI’s, Home Runs, and Doubles and was named the 2005 CVAC, South Atlantic Region, and NCAA DII National Player of the Year. After a record setting junior year, in which he hit .448 with 18 hr, 28 2b, and 83 rbi, Casey was selected in the 9th round of the 2005 major league draft by the San Diego Padres. He spent 2 1/2 years with the Padres and 2 years in the Frontier League with several different teams. He also returned to Erskine and finished his last year of school, graduating with a degree in Sports Management. Casey has been instructing for 5 years and works with players of all ages. Ben Blumenthal- Catching/Hitting Instructor
Ben finished his college career at Erskine College where he was a First Team All Conference Catcher hitting .400 with 13 home runs and driving in 55 runs. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 21st round out of Erskine College in 2005. Ben played with the Reds for two years and then signed with the New York Yankees. In 2007 he led the Gulf Coast Yankees to a League Championship hitting .361 and handling a very young pitching staff. He was called up to Major League Spring Training in 2008 and 2009 where he played on the same field as Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez. Ben also worked with Hall of Famers such as Yogi Berra and Reggie Jackson. He also had the privilege of catching superstars such as Roger Clemens, C.C. Sabathia, and Andy Pettite. Stephen Flake- Pitching Instructor
Stephen grew up in Marietta and played high school ball at McEachern High School, where he graduated in 2002. He was a 2-time All-Region pitcher and 2001 Marietta Daily Journal Pitcher of the Year. In College, Stephen attended North Georgia College and State University and SPSU where he compiled a 37-15 record. He holds 12 career and single season records in college, for Wins, Strikeouts, ERA, Starts, and Innings pitched to name a few. Stephen was also GACC Freshman Player of the Year in 2003, a GACC All-Conference Pitcher, a SSAC All-Conference Pitcher, a 2-time All-Region Pitcher, along with being a 2-time NAIA All-American. In 2007, Stephen was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 34th round. He played one season with the Marlins compiling a 2-1 record with a 1.71 ERA. In 2008, Stephen played with the Windy City Thunderbolts in the Frontier league. He went 10-3 and earned himself the honors of being on the Western Division All-Star Team. That year he helped lead the team to a Frontier League Championship. In 2009, Stephen was traded to the River City Rascals where he currently plays. Clifton Remole-Hitting/Defense Instructor
Clifton is a native of the Marietta area and was a four year letter winner at Osborne High School. While there, he set a batting average record hitting .480, was a two time all county team memeber, two time all state team member, and tossed a no hitter his sophomore year against Sprayberry High School. Clifton then went of to play baseball at Georgia Tech for three years. In 2003 he was a member of the All ACC Tournament Team hitting .348 avg., 6 runs, 8 RBI, 4 doubles, 6 walks. In 2004 he made second team All ACC and made the All tournament hitting .500 with four homeruns. He also played in the College World Series in 2001. After college he was drafted in the 11th round to the Anaheim Angels. He played rookie ball in Provo, Utah, (A) Ball in Ceader Rapids, Iowa, (Hi A) Rancho Cucamonga, California, (AA) Little Rock, Arkansas, And (AAA) in Salt Lake City. Eric Suttle- Hitting/Defense Instructor
Eric grew up in Marietta, GA where he attended The Walker School, earning back to back state championships in 2001 and 2002 before graduating in 2003. Following a 1st team all Cobb County selection as a senior, he continued his career as a collegiate at Georgia State University where he started and played for 4 years. He finished his tenure at GSU with the 4th most hits all time in the schools program. As a senior, he lead the Colonial Athletic Association in batting average in conference games while also earning a 2nd team all CAA award to conclude his career. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Sociology in the spring of 2007. For a year and a half ensuing, Eric played professionally for the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League. In 2009, Eric signed with the Houston Astros and played in both low-A and high-A. As an outfielder, Eric teaches the fundamentals of defense, hitting, and speed while efficiently emphasizing proper mechanics. Sign up today!
